These Alpha/beta Hydroxy acid chemical peels contain a mixture of Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic acids. They are ideal to unveil a fresh, even and luminous complexion as well as encouraging cell regeneration. The range includes:

Refresh peel

The CLINICARE Refresh Peel is a superficial glycolic acid peel suitable for an anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation effect.

The Refresh AHA Peel is a superficial chemical peel that removes the upper layers of the epidermis. It strengthens the skin and stimulates collagen synthesis.

Suitable for:

  • – Ageing skin
  • – Photo damaged skin
  • – Rough texture, fine lines and wrinkles
  • – Enlarged pores, dull, sallow skin color

Active ingredients:

Glycolic Acid 48%

The Refresh Peel contains the smallest and most effective alpha hydroxy acid, derived from sugar cane. It exfoliates the epidermis, promotes epidermolysis, and stimulates the growth of new skin. It safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, bringing fresh, new skin to the surface.

Recommended treatment plan

  • -Medium to severe sun damage and/or ageing=6 treatments: every 1-4 weeks
  • -Mild fine lines, laxity=4 treatments: every 1-4 weeks

Kojic Acid 4%

Kojic acid is derived from a variety of fungi and organic substances and is used to diminish dark areas resulting from excessive pigmentation in the skin.

Recommended treatment plan

  • -Medium to severe hyperpigmentation=6 treatments: every 1-4 weeks
  • -Mild hyperpigmentation/dull skin=4 treatments: every 1-4 weeks

Glow peel

The CLINICARE Glow AHA Peel is a superficial glycolic acid peel effective in treating hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage and dull, tired skin.

The Glow AHA Peel is a mild superficial glycolic acid peel which will remove the upper layer of the epidermis. It inhibits melanin synthesis, brightens the skin, evens out discolouration and is safe to use on darker skin.

Active ingredients:

Glycolic Acid 28%

Derived from sugar cane. It exfoliates the epidermis, promotes epidermolysis, and stimulates the growth of new skin. It safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, bringing fresh, new skin to the surface.

Mandelic acid 6%

This alpha hydroxy acid is derived from bitter almonds. It has depigmenting properties, inhibits melanin synthesis, exfoliates and rejuvenates skin.

Glycolic acid 12%

This exfoliates the epidermis, promotes epidermolysis, disperses basal layer melanin and stimulates the growth of new skin. Glycolic acid also reduces the amount of surface skin oil.

Pure peel

The CLINICARE Pure BHA Peel is a light superficial chemical peel that will remove the upper layers of the epidermis (pH 2.4).

This peel is suitable for acne treatments and can be used to improve skin texture.

  • – Inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne
  • – Blackheads and comedones
  • – Rough texture, fine lines and wrinkles
  • – Enlarged pores
  • – Skin ageing

Active ingredients:

Salicylic acid 20%

Derived from willow tree bark, this has keratolytic, comedolytic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Its lipophilic properties enable the salicylic acid to penetrate and dissolve sebum, making it a highly effective therapy for acne. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties which make it suitable for sensitive skin conditions, such as rosacea. Salicylic acid has a mild anaesthetic effect compared to AHAs.

Lactic acid 12%

The mildest of alpfa hydroxy acids, it has water-binding properties and stimulates collagen synthesis.

Recommended treatment plan

  • -Medium to severe acne problems=6 treatments: every 1-4 weeks
  • -Mild acne or oily/sensitive skin=4 treatments: every 1-4 weeks

Post treatment:

Reactions from the treatment can include: skin redness, flushing, peeling, dryness, irritation, tightness and tenderness.

These effects will usually subside within a couple of hours and many people are able to return to their normal activities the same day.

Aftercare advice:

  • – Refrain from touching or pulling at any loose peeling skin
  • – Avoid fragranced facial products for 5-7 days after treatment
  • – Avoid exfoliating for 7 days
  • – Avoid sun beds/saunas/steam rooms for 3 days
  • – Use 40+ SPF for at least one week post treatment
  • – Makeup can be applied once the skin has healed
