Notes about payments – Updated October 2024:
Thank you for choosing Regent Street Clinic. We value your custom. We are a patient-centred business where your satisfaction with our service matters. For transparency we have added these notes to help clarify certain points relating to payments and fees. Payments are due on the day of the appointment.
Private GP/nurse appointments for primary care and sexual health will be charged prior to seeing the clinician. This fee of £95 is non-refundable and reflects the time committed by our medical team to manage your health concerns.
Travel vaccines that are part of a course such as hepatitis B, rabies, Japanese encephalitis and tick-borne encephalitis must be paid for in advance on the first visit to ensure that we are able secure the vaccines to complete each individual course. This is important given the chronic shortage of many vaccines in the UK in 2024. We will be allocating the rest of the vaccines to each individual and this cannot be guaranteed unless they are paid for in advance. For this reason vaccine courses paid for in advance are non-refundable once the schedules have started. We ensure that vaccines are purchased and in stock to meet the schedule requirements for each individual. We encourage travellers to complete their courses and if this is not possible then no refund will be given.
Medication supplied, including antimalarials and antibiotics, are non refundable once purchased. The private prescription charge of £30 is non-refundable once it has been issued.
Similarly, payments for all investigations, once they have been paid for in readiness to be forwarded to our laboratories for analysis, are strictly non refundable. Paying for your investigations is voluntary and a result of the decision you have taken to help manage your medical issue.
We are a primary care service and do not have any service level agreements with private medical insurers, some of whom do cover private primary care and others who do not. It is the responsibility of the service user only to clarify the position relating to insurance coverage prior to agreeing to investigations and treatment. We are happy to complete medical forms to assist in this process by notifying the insurer of the reason for each recommendation.
SEXUAL HEALTH (October 2024)
We are aware that there are some problems accessing sexual health services via the NHS in some parts of the UK currently. Notifiable diseases such as gonorrhoea and syphilis are on the increase in the UK and we are happy to offer interim treatment for people that test positive with the caveat that the NHS GUM clinic route must still be followed, for contact tracing and sensitivity testing to ensure the correct treatment option is being taken. In this circumstance we will be recommending a follow up test to confirm that the infection has cleared as part of our service. Clearly this is important to protect the health of the individual concerned as well as any partners, who will also need to be tested and treated.
We issue receipts of payment which can be e-mailed.
We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express.
